Before we could get summer vacation started Jaymi had to graduate from kindergarten. They had a cute little program they did where they sang songs and did little parts. Jaymi is quite the performer, she had a great time.
Making silly faces with Daddy.
Jaymi loved her teacher Miss Sue so much. She was such a fun teacher and did so well at teaching the children appropriate school behavior and enforcing the rules. As a parent I'm very grateful for that as I know it will serve Jaymi throughout her schooling.
Jaymi's other teacher Miss Bonnie, she was also great with the kids!
And cute Miss Hope.
Bryn was a proud little sitter, and very grateful for the cookies and juice they served after.
Jaymi's cute little friend Justin.
Jaymi and her best little friend Mia.
We had to rush to Bryn's first little gymnastics class right after the graduation.
Now that Summer has officially began we are back to our horse riding. This year we combined it with our speech therapy which has been nice to hit two birds with one stone. Jaymi has made a lot of progress with her speech this summer, not sure what it is that clicked but she is speaking a lot more clearly and making full sentences. We are really proud of her.
Kaelyn is doing so much better on the horses this year. Last year she didn't really want anything to do with them and would only last a few minutes riding. Now she rides around with a big smile on her face and even pets them on their own.
Bryn is a lucky little sister because she gets to use the second half of Kaelyn's lesson to ride. There are lots of perks to having siblings with special needs and we take advantage of many of them for our girls. We never want Bryn to feel left out of all the excitement.
A fun night out with a group of other mom's with kids with Down syndrome. I love our group, we have so much fun! There are lots of perks for mom's with kids with special needs too. One being lots of amazing new friendships.
We had the opportunity to volunteer at the local Special Olympics state meet with our work. The girls had a great time cheering on the athletes and handing out medals. Kaelyn had a hay day climbing up the bleachers. Next year Jaymi will be old enough to participate and she will love it.
We were treated to a free night at the zoo with Hopekids. There were different characters and lots of fun things around, we had a great time.
Playing at our friends the Mcknights. Kaelyn and Oakley are just a few months apart. I'm pretty sure he is the biggest 5 year old and Kaelyn is the smallest. He was so cute playing with her.
Just playing out in the yard.
Jaymi so sweet to pray for anyone who has a boo boo. I was showing the girls a picture of our friend Hazel who was sick and in the hospital and Jaymi immediately stopped to say a prayer for her.
We ventured over the the dinosaur museum in Vernal with Grandma to celebrate Kaelyn's 5th birthday.
This girl is our little climber.
Silly little birthday girl.
More gymnastics for Jaymi, Bryn watching patiently waiting for it to be her turn again this fall.
Next up for graduation was our little Kaelyn. She graduated from the little preschool she has been attending since she turned three. She looked so proud marching in at the beginning. Her sisters were so proud and excited of her. Bryn is going to attend the same little school this fall as a "peer student", but really its just preschool. Ever since Kaelyn went there I wanted Bryn to attend there so she could be around more children her age with different needs.
We had our second annual Utah Reece's Rainbow adoptive mom's retreat in Park City. I love this group of ladies and can't wait for our next one!
While I was at my retreat Wayne took the girls to his brothers house for a little campout in their back yard.
Our cousins had a snow cone stand and we had to get some. These smart girls found some nice shade under the table.
Jaymi got to go to the birthday party of her cute friend from school and met Elsa.
Wayne and I celebrated our 9th Anniversary by going to dinner and watching a number of our neighbors perform in the play Annie.
I was able to run in the Wasatch Back Ragnar with some friends from my neighborhood. We had a great time. I was able to see some new places in Utah I hadn't been to before and it was so pretty.
One morning I came in to see that Kaelyn had some how pushed over her dresser. Thank goodness she wasn't hurt, I don't know how she managed it. Needless to say we have since done some re-arranging.
