Finally, we've been kicked out of the PICU. Yesterday morning Kaelyn was transferred to the Children's Surgical Unit (one step closer to the door home). Overall she's been doing very well. She did catch a bit of a cold/fever bug, as of yet not RSV, so we're hoping she can get over that stuff. Also, when they pulled out one of her IVs the artery that it was in clotted. So now our little one has to get a shot every 12 hrs. to thin out her blood until the clot breaks up. The poor thing. Other than that, she's doing great. Everything with her heart has worked out fine, gratefully. It's just kind of funny that her heart is doing so great but it seems like she just keeps getting beat up by something else. Lots of nicks, scratches, and sores, but nothing our feisty little one can't handle.
Thank you so much to everybody for keeping us in you thoughts and prayers. None of us could have made it through this experience if it weren't for ya'll.

I'm so happy for you all! I can't believe how big she is getting!
Go, Kaelyn, Go! Sounds like she's taking it all in stride; I'm sure you're all ready to make it home! Thinking about you all!
Love the little bow. She looks so precious, even with all her hospital gear. :>)
Glad to hear that she is trucking right along as always. She is one tough, adorable little girl. Praying that she will be home with you very soon....I am sure you are not enjoying being back in the hospital again!!!
She looks so good! I'm so amazed at how y'all take everything in stride. Hurry home little one!
She is one tough little girl! Can't wait until all is well and we can see you guys again! She is looking so big!
Oh she looks so good. I have been wondering how you guys were doing. We are still praying for you to get home soon.
I just want to hug and kiss her!!! What a sweetie! Can't wait 'til you get to go home, Kaelyn! Still thinking of you all often.
She keeps getting cuter and cuter. What sweet pictures of her, even with all the extra stuff. Thanks for the update! Here's to the next boot-HOME!!
She just likes to take her sweet time with things, doesn't she. Glad she got sick of the PICU and got herself a new room :)
Oh, yay! Hope she shakes this cold quickly.
I still can't get over how big she looks! Not even the same baby! Lovenox is the shot Jax gets twice a day for his clotting disorder. Luckily my needles are a lot smaller than the hospitals! When she gets home all the bruises will go away and she'll have a healthy heart!
She's doing it in her own time. Which is actually a good thing. Remember that saying?? Slow and steady wins the race.
Praying all goes well and you're on your way home soon.
Yay for leaving PICU - she is looking good and so adorable. Praying she gets over the cold/fever soon so she can go home!
She is so precious! She is getting so big! We really miss you guys! Wish we lived closer so that we could be there.
So happy you got the boot.
PICU = No Fun. I would like to have stopped in for a visit, but with the hospital being full of RSV, I was told not to visit any of the other units. RSV would not be good for Kristen. Hope you are home soon.
Yeah, so glad you are getting closer to home. She is so dang cute. What a strong little girl. Can't wait for you guys to get booted all the way home. :-)
